DREAM Center is Making a Difference
The DREAM Center offers a multitude of programs and services for all ages throughout our community. My son has attended the summer program and Safe Haven program and loves them both.
These programs have assisted Layden (the current DREAM Center king) with improving his educational studies, preparing him for the next grade level, providing structure/discipline, and boosting his self-confidence/self-esteem. The DREAM Center also sponsors field trips for Layden to explore various attractions throughout NC. The DREAM Center is a great asset to our community. It’s a safe environment. While focusing on education and having fun, the DREAM Center also helps our youth bond by creating new friendships. Thank you for ALL you do for our son, our family, and our community!

I chose to volunteer at The Columbus County DREAM Center because I admire individuals who are dedicated to making a positive impact in their communities and who advocate for those who are marginalized or underserved.
The Columbus County DREAM Center provides a safe and healing space for children and families to find resources and support that helps them succeed and thrive.
For children, having a space where they feel warm and comforted is essential to their overall development. It provides them with a sense of security and belonging, allowing them to explore and grow with confidence. Paying special attention to their educational, developmental, physical, and emotional needs plays a major role in who they grow up to be, and The DREAM Center contributes to each of these essential factors. Becoming a part of the team and contributing to the mission of providing holistic assistance that focuses on academics, health and physical activity, nutrition, character education and building, inter/intrapersonal skills not only helped the children and families that make up the center, but also helped shape my interests and passions and have continued to influence my career decisions today. I aim to work in a field that focuses on social justice, equity, and childcare because of The DREAM Center, and I know that if at any point I need guidance or help, I can reach out to my mentors and friends back home that work to keep the center and it's mission alive.
